The simplest way is to open both books at once and copy pages from one book to another.
You can edit more that one book at the same time using the author program.
1. Open both books that you want to use in the author program.
2. Switch to the first book, using top menu Window menu item.
3. click on copy page button (on left) to copy the page.
4. Switch to the second book, using top menu Window menu item.
5. Click on add page to add a page to the end of this book.
6. Ctrl+V to paste the page or Edit > Paste
